Did you know that East Street Arts turns 30 this year?
Collaborations between: art, technology, sustainability and community have found their feet firmly under the table at Convention House. A former nunnery turned not-so-blank canvas, Convention House completes a trio of buildings that form East Street Arts’ forever home on St.Mary’s Lane, Mabgate.

East Street Arts is leading a cultural consortium of organisations based on or near New Briggate on the North side of the city centre of Leeds, which is part of a national programme funded by Historic England called the High Streets Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ).
High Streets Heritage Action Zones are a nationwide funding programme, managed by Historic England designed to support physical improvements, community engagement, and cultural activities that will regenerate historic high streets.

A Neighbourhood Plan is an important tool that gives people a say in the future of the places they live and work. Including where new homes, shops, offices and public spaces can be built.
A City Less Grey is our on-going project that commissions artists working in public places.
We always dreamt of owning our very own hostel, inspired by accommodation we encountered on our travels we saw a real opportunity to build an affordable yet inspiring place to stay here in Leeds.
