Barkston House

Barkston House is an office building on an industrial estate in Holbeck, an inner city area of Leeds.

East Street Arts occupies seven units on the building’s third floor. With the help of the wonderful community of artists we work with we’ve turned this floor into a dynamic hub of creative activity home to 40 studio spaces, Leeds only dedicated ceramics facility, a classroom and two residency spaces.

What makes these studios so unique is the vibrant and supportive community of artists and creative practitioners who work there. Barkston House is a space for creatives of all disciplines, abilities and backgrounds to develop work and build relationships.

Barkston House is located in Holbeck, an easy 10 minute drive from the city centre or 20 minute bus ride from Leeds bus station. Situated on the edge of Holbeck Urban Village, Barkston House is also easily accessible from the motorway (M621).
