Past show: Street Studio by Jonathan Turner

Between 2014 and 2015, photographer Jonathan Turner photographed individuals, families and community groups in Chapeltown, Leeds to celebrate diversity through portraits of local residents.

Street Studio’, supported by Leeds Inspired and East Street Arts, took inspiration from roving street based ‘itinerant photographers’ of the late 19th and early 20th century, Jonathan set up his ‘street studios’ at various locations in the community, and produced free portraits for all participants.

Taking over Union 105 and Inkwell, the results were displayed as an exhibition in March and April 2015, with everyone who took part in the project receiving a free publication to accompany the show.
