We’re looking for residents in the area to form the beginnings of a Neighbourhood Forum. To help spread the word about the plan. To make sure we meet as many people as possible who live in the area, so that they can feed into the plan too.
What is a Neighbourhood Forum?
A Neighbourhood Forum is a group specially set up to create a Neighbourhood Plan.
This forum will be made up of residents, stakeholders, businesses and councillors. They will be responsible for developing a document that sets out planning policies for the neighbourhood area, that are used to decide whether to approve planning applications. The Neighbourhood Plan will be created by the local community – the people who love and know the area well – to ensure the neighbourhood gets the right types of development, in the right place.
That includes the protection of green spaces and heritage sites, community-led initiatives, new commercial and residential buildings and more.
I’m not sure if I can commit
If you have concerns about time commitment, childcare, travel or any access needs you might have please do contact us and let us know any challenges you might face. We’re here to make sure anyone who wants to get involved in the plan is supported to do so.
Being part of a Forum doesn’t have to be a huge commitment. There are many different roles involved that can include coming to one or two meetings a year, running specific events or activities, or sitting down and writing the plan. All we’re looking for is people who care about the area and want to see it change for the benefit of the people who live here.
I’m interested, what do I need to do?
Just fill out a form here Register My Interest and we will get in touch with any more information you might need, and invite you to take part in different activities we’ve got planned over the next few months.
If you’d prefer to speak to someone directly, or fill out a paper form, please get in touch with us and we can arrange this for you, so email katanddahab@esamail.org.uk or call 0113 248 0040 (please mention the Neighbourhood Plan).
I can’t join the Forum but I’d like to support
We’re going to be working in the area to create activities, events and projects throughout the next two years. We’d love for you to be involved, whether that’s by helping us design the activities, promoting them to your family or friends, or by showing up to them and taking part.
If this sounds like something you would like to do, please email us katanddahab@esamail.org.uk and we’ll make sure you find out about anything we have planned.
